If you want to converse with the rest of your team, this is generally where it happens if pace of play is adhered to. As many as five groups will be scattered on the 12th, 13th, and neighboring 14th holes within earshot of all competitors. Many times, those less fortunate will be spectating at this point if they were beaten six & five.

At first sight it is indeed straightforward, a par four with only one defining feature, a large willow to keep players from aiming at the safety of the 14th fairway. Out of bounds left encourages the block right, and even with the willow out there, many players just hit and hope for a reasonable approach. Many players have flirted with the OB that juts out on the left, and a popular cup pastime is the hopeful hunt for the ball that squirts through the little peninsula of woods.

A good tee shot leaves an accessible unprotected green. The only mistake to truly avoid is missing the green long, where hard ground, a rock fence and OB lurk. Keep your concentration, because a bogey or double can grab even the jazziest of the players.
